When we say something is powerless, we mean that it can do nothing. When we talk about this idea, we usually say one of these two things:. A name has no power of its own. A name does not have the ability to do things. Jesus has power, and can do things. I do believe in spiritual warfare. His name has no power of its own. His name is not God. Jesus has power. You recognize this when you talk about people using His name as an exclamation, and about Him not responding.
