Savannah ga how many days

Savannah should be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. I suggest to everyone upon arriving to take a trolley tour if possible. You get acclimated to where everything is plus you learn the history of Savannah. If not, make sure you pick up a walking map at the Visitor's Center. You can download a walking tour from Amazon if you have a smart phone, kindle or download it to your computer and print it it out. Thank you all for your good advice. We'll be staying at Zeigler House, arriving Monday late afternoon.

Will try to fit in a trolley tour, architectural walking tour, Telfair, SCAD, walk, walk, walk and eat, eat, eat. Leaving Thursday. Sounds good? Hi from Boston. We've been many times and loved Sav so much we bought a house there for retirement. I think you'll be good with this plan but I would reserve a day to drive out to Tybee. When we go to visit our tenants at our house we always stay on Tybee.

Think lower Cape around PTown only smaller and quieter and that's Tybee. Incredible marshes and birds to see on the way out and several decent restaurants. Try the Sundae Cafe on the right in a tiny strip plaza as the road bends towards the right into the "downtown" Tybee center.

Awesome food with elegance if that's something you would like. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. I am moving to Savannah next summer and have really enjoyed reading all you have shared about your experiences in the city. Although I am hoping to visit before making the move COVID willing , it has been wonderful to travel vicariously through you and your blog in the meantime. Thank you for sharing! Thank you so much, Katie! Have a spiced lavender mocha at The Collins Quarter for us when you get there! Disappointed there were no hints about navigating Savannah given Covid restrictions.

Maybe your post was dated Jan 1 but actually occurred pre-Covid? Hi Marsha! The dates on my posts reflect the last time they were changed or updated in any way, which I do all the time as a course of my work.. These restaurant photos reflect some of the last times I ate in indoor restaurants, as crazy as that is to say almost a year later!

Getting ready to head to Savannah with my 2 daughters and a few friends. I went 3 years ago with some friends but this time heading with my daughter Savannah lol for her 21st birthday!

Thank you! How fun is this? One way to get to Beneventure and have a very fun tour is to take a Segway tour of the cemetery.

I think they have Segway tours of Tybee also; both originate in the tourist district. There are also electric bike tours. Hi Kate, I will be visiting Savannah in May and was wondering if you have any advice on where I should stay. I want a riverfront hotel with a balcony with chairs! I am currently torn between Homewood and Marriot Riverfront. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Hi Mary! Kate, Your article is exactly what I was looking for! I was wondering which of the ghost tours you would recommend as really creepy.

Also, do you recommend tour or freestyle for Bonaventure cemetery? We did the paranormal tour most recently and I would say it was interesting, but not the creepiest. I have a tour on my personal wish list for that reason. What do you think about visiting Savannah the first week of December? My husband and I are from the Pacific Northwest and reading about the possibility of hurricanes through November is a little daunting.

We were hoping to come in October or November but are concerned about the storms. Your thoughts? Definitely still a beautiful time to visit! Notify me of follow-up comments by email. In , it was bought by Jim Williams who restored the house, as he would 50 others in Savannah.

We decided not to go inside the Mercer House because it was quite pricey and apparently the guides are not allowed to answer any questions regarding the shooting. Luckily, we heard all the torrid tales during our ghost tour.

Come afternoon, we made the short 20 minute drive out to Tybee Island for a change of pace. Oh wow, we had such a wonderful time during our 3 days in Savannah! Writing this post brought back some fond memories and made me miss the city even more. Savannah really does have it all- an interesting history, exquisite architecture, natural beauty and intriguing mysteries.

We left Savannah reminded of how much we love the southern United States and felt inspired to explore more of Georgia. There are so many great spots for photography in Savannah , that I took a ridiculous amount of photos. Here are a few more to entice you to visit!
