Sonia Livingstone: LSE. Todorov: Propp's influence. Todorov: narrative and ideology. So in the Simpsons Movie, in the first part, everything is normal and Homer is just doing chores. The second part of the story will feature a problem or some thing will disrupt the happiness. In the Simpsons, it begins when Homer saves a pig. This part of the plot is when everyone realises the problem and it is chaos.

So, the Simpsons are kicked out of Springfield and forced to move to Alaska. This part of the plot is when the characters attempt to repair the damage and restore the problem. Although this is the end of the theory, it is not the end of the film and the Todorov theory of the narrative starts again. The equilibrium is when the girls are setting off into the cave and they are exploring it and having fun.

The disruption is when the characters find out that their friend Juno who led them to the cave had taken them to a different cave, one they had never been in before and they were lost. This also shows the recognition stage when the girls realise they are lost and do not know how to get out. In their attempt to repair the situation they begin to work together to try and find their way out of the cave.

However, there is no equilibrium at this stage as the characters struggle to get out. The main disruption of the film is when the creatures in the caves are discovered and they begin to hunt and kill the characters. The recognition stage is when the characters realise that the creatures are going to kill them unless they fight back or get out of the cave.
